Fear and Expanding Your Comfort Zone

In May of 2018, my wife and kids were vacationing in Italy and visited the Isle of Capri. High up on the Isle is the village of Anacapri, which is home to Monte Solaro — a 589 meter mountain in the middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea. There is a chair lift that allows you to ride in the open air up the mountain.

Before I go any further, let me explain that I have had a paralyzing fear of heights for most of my life.

We decided to go on the chair lift, and I immediately started having second thoughts. But I didn't want to take this great experience away from my family.
